Hi, I’m Valerie.

In my 20+ years as a therapist, I’ve helped people reduce anxiety, process grief, and understand their trauma. While my degrees and certifications speak to my education and credentials, the most important knowledge and skills I’ve acquired come from working firsthand with my clients. Ensuring that my clients feel safe, respected, validated, and heard, allows our relationship to grow and the therapy to be successful.

In addition to sharing your vulnerable experiences, we will focus on ways to move forward. I use a trauma-informed and trauma-responsive, person-centered therapeutic approach that allows me to adapt your therapy to your specific needs.

I earned my master’s degree in Community and Trauma Counseling from Thomas Jefferson University, and am Certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). Additionally, I am certified in Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse. Sites of my recent presentations include Trauma Research Foundation (TRF), Bryn Mawr School of Social Work, Thomas Jefferson University’s Annual Trauma Conferences, and the National Career Development Association (NCDA).
